   Mindful: attentive, aware, or careful (usually fol. by of ): mindful of one's responsibilities.

The other day I did a shoot with Tracey Chaplin who now lives in Malibu, CA.   Tracey has only lived in LA area for about 1 year now.  When I first saw her I said is that Paris Hilton?  Of course it wasn't but when talking with her she told me she gets that all the time.  I totally couldn't wait to take some photos of her.  Here are some of the photos we took the other day.  

These images I wanted to just keep it super simple and raw.  Wanted to see how she moves in-front of the camera.  I shot this with one light right next to camera.

CBVA-AVP Qualification Tournament July 24-25 in Zuma Beach

The Greek American beach volleyball players, Christina Hinds (facebook link) and JoAnna Papageorgiou (facebook link), competed in the CBVA-AVP qualification tournament July 24-25 in Zuma Beach.  The two are preparing to play on the international beach volleyball circuit where Olympic qualification takes place.  The beautiful US beaches with the solid American competition and fabulous friend and family support are the ideal location for them to prepare for their Olympic goals of qualifying for the 2012 Olympics in Beach Volleyball, representing Greece.



Christina and I have been friends for over 10 years now and this weekend I meet JoAnna.  Both these girls together make such a powerful team.  They are trying to raise money so they can practice, travel and make it to the 2012 Olympics. 


I never shot beach volleyball before, wow very changeling.  I don't really know to much about the sport myself but that these girls are super fast.  Trying to following them with my camera to capture the right movements was some work for sure.  As a photographer is so great to push yourself and shoot something outside  your confront level.  Hope you guys like these shots.

Photography Lighting Tips

Going to try and post more on lighting tips.  I have been asked how did I like my shoot.  Here is a really simple lighting set up.  The shoot is with my brother Madison Hildebrand.  
Now go out and try it yourself and see what you pull off.

Kush Clothing - Location Scouting - ViceRoy

I am doing another shoot for the clothing company Kush at the famous ViceRoy in Santa Monica.  We all had to meet and and scout the location to find the shots.  The day of the shoot we have over 10 shots with little time.  Planning before your shoots makes for smoother shoot.
