Designer Max Musina, a client, next-door neighbor, and good friend of mine, has been hand crafting one-of-a-kind luxury items for seven years now. His brand, Massimiliano Musina, contains a unique collection of handbags, clutches, belts, sandals, jackets and furniture, dedicating his attention to detail, color, style and precision. Most of his line is made from rare exotic skins like crocodile, sting ray and python, although he also just starting an organic luxury line, as well.
Each individual piece refrains from machine-use, and is made entirely by hand. His leathers are hand cut, painted and sewn, with his signature embedded into every purse and shoe like a painting. I have been photographing fashion for a number of years, and his colors and quality are in a league of their own… as a matter of fact, I wouldn’t even call his products Fashion, I would call them ART!
On this recent studio shoot of Max's latest collection of high-end women's shoes, everything was shot in my studio using Profoto lights: one to light the background, and one head with a beauty dish to light the products.
