Faces of Malibu - For Those Who Haven't Seen This

Faces of Malibu from Sicky Dicky on Vimeo.

(this posting is for everyone who hasn't seen this on going project, stay tuned to be finished soon)

To Everyone who has been a part of this project so far,

First, let us say thank you for your involvement and enthusiasm in this
project, it is a daily reminder of why we are doing this, to create something
that will be memorable for future generations in Malibu, and to commemorate who
and what Malibu is today.

As I am sure you know, this summer Malibu Magazine released the "Faces of
Malibu" article in their beginning of summer issue, featuring many of our
portraits. However, we are not intending to stop there. We have many more of
you to gather and photograph over the next several months.

What we first envisioned as a small book with only single portraits, has evolved
into a 300+ page coffee table book that will look at historical photographs, the
portraits of the individuals and families, as well as fine art photographs of
memorable and staple Malibu icons. Further, we will have a few community
members speak on their personal experiences and relationship with Malibu,
telling the stories of old and new.

To do this, we need your help. If there are any specific people or landmarks
that you believe should be shared in the book, please feel free to email us
with a brief description of their history with Malibu and the importance of
including them, along with their contact information. We have already shot over
one hundred people, and our list is around three hundred and still growing.
While we cannot guarantee to get everyone in this, we want to keep our
representation of Malibu as accurate as possible. Email Me Today info@johnhildebrand.com

Secondly, we are doing this project out of our own pockets. We are not just
donating our time, which we are more than happy to spend, but we are carrying
the actual costs of self-publishing this book. If anyone is interested in
investing in this project and becoming a sponsor, we would really appreciate
your help and love to talk with you. We have also attached a website where you
will be able to order Faces of Malibu T-shirts. We have printed a limited run
of them on high-quality, soft Organic American Apparel T's, and are looking to
help re-coop some of the money it is going to take to initiate the printing
process of the book.

Again, thanks to everyone who has been involved so far with this
project. We wouldn’t have gotten this far without you, and without you this
book wouldn’t exist at all.
